Qi Gong Classes Qigong is the foundation of Reiki. This class is an expression of Kun Lun Kung Fu as handed down by Lao Xie Christopher Matsuo and Sigung Hasting Albo. This class includes gentle stretching, qigong movements, circle walking, push hands, forms, and meditation. Benefits are increased qi flow, balancing, centering, and a resulting sense of well-being. While not strenuous, students will enhance muscle strength and flexibility and spine and joint flexibility, and can experience a moderate heart rate increase. Level of intensity is based on individual capabilities (much of the class can be performed while sitting, if necessary.) All matter in the universe consists of energy vibrating at various frequencies and in particular patterns of relationship—that energy is Qi. Gong means energy and time. So, literally, Qigong is any training or study dealing with Qi which takes a long time and a lot of effort. The study of Qigong allows us to work with the energy of our bodies, the earth, and the universe to achieve the balance and harmony of our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual selves.
